Mongolian Beef

Ingredients

  • 2 tbs. soy sauce
  • ¼ tsp. white pepper
  • 1 tsp. sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp. sugar Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp. Oil
  • 500 gms. Beef tenderloin, sliced thinly
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1” ginger, shredded
  • 2 spring onion greens, cut into 2 inch pieces

Marinade:

  • 1 tbsp. corn flour
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. rice wine

Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp. Hoisin sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp. water
  1. Marinate the beef slices with the marinade for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a wok or a pan with oil and shallow fry (or stir fry) the beef until browned. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat up the remaining oil and stir fry the garlic and ginger for a minute, do not brown.
  4. Add the beef and then the sauce.
  5. Continue to cook and stir until the beef slices are almost done.
  6. Then add the spring onions.
  7. Toss well and serve hot.
