Ingrediens:

  1. 1 ½ cups Basmati rice
  2. 1 ½ tbsp. sugar
  3. 7 cloves
  4. 1” pc. Cinnamon
  5. 2 pcs. Star anise
  6. 7 peppercorns
  7. 1 tsp. salt
  8. 7 cups water
  9. 1 tbsp. Ghee
  • Pick and wash Rice and soak in water for 15 minutes.
  • In a deep pan heat the sugar and allow to caramelize on low heat till rich brown. Do not add any water.
  • Rotate the pan if necessary to caramelize evenly.
  • Add the rice and remaining ingredients and boil on medium heat till the rice is done.
  • Drain and serve hot with Dhansak and Sweet and Sour Onion salad.
