Brown Rice
Ingrediens:
- 1 ½ cups Basmati rice
- 1 ½ tbsp. sugar
- 7 cloves
- 1” pc. Cinnamon
- 2 pcs. Star anise
- 7 peppercorns
- 1 tsp. salt
- 7 cups water
- 1 tbsp. Ghee
- Pick and wash Rice and soak in water for 15 minutes.
- In a deep pan heat the sugar and allow to caramelize on low heat till rich brown. Do not add any water.
- Rotate the pan if necessary to caramelize evenly.
- Add the rice and remaining ingredients and boil on medium heat till the rice is done.
- Drain and serve hot with Dhansak and Sweet and Sour Onion salad.
