Date Rolls
Ingredients
- 200 gms maida
- 100 gms. Butter
- 60 gms icing sugar
- 1 egg
- 100 gms walnuts
- 200 gms dates (remove seeds)
Method:
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add the flour and beaten egg and knead to a soft dough.
- Put a piece of walnut in the center of the date.
- Roll the dough ¼ inch thick – cut into 2 inch strips, roll a date in each.
- Place the rolls on a baking tray, brush the top of the roll with egg yolk
- Bake in a moderate ovenfor 20 minutes till light brown on the underside.
