Jam filled cookies

  • 2.5 cups flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp. sour cream
  • ½ cup red cherry or strawberry jam or fruit preserve


  1. Combine flour, sugar, salt. 
  2. Cut in cream cheese and butter and mix well till it resembles bread crumbs. 
  3. Stir in sour cream until dough holds together. 
  4. Knead gently till smooth.
  5. Wrap dough in plastic and refrigerate for an hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 180 deg C. 
  7. Take a quarter protion of the dough and on a floured board or work surface, roll out dough into a large circle. 
  8. Cut out some rounds with cookie cutter and pair them with rounds cut with doughnut cutter to make a hole in the centre. 
  9. Place a ½ to 1 tsp of jam on the full round and place the round with the hole over the jam.
  10. Press edges lightly and place on baking tray with parchment or greased baking tray. 
  11. Bake 15 to 20 minutes till golden brown. 
  12. Remove to a rack and cool.
