Nivol
Provides strength to the body and protects mother and baby against cold.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup kokum
- 1 spoon pure ghee
- 1 medium onion
- Salt to taste
Grind to a paste
- 1 tbsp. coconut (optional)
- 2 tbsp. coriander seeds
- 1 tsp. cumin seeds
- ½ tsp. mustard seeds
- 1 tbsp. peppercorns
- 1 tsp. ajwain
- 1 large onion
- 5 flakes garlic
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
Method
- Soak the kokum in 2 cups water for half hour.
- Roast the ingredients from coconut to ajwain and grind with the onion and garlic to a paste.
- Slice the onion.
- Heat ghee in a vessel and fry the onion to light brown.
- Add ground masala paste and fry a little.
- Add kokum alongwith the water and salt.
- Add more water, if required, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer till oil surfaces.
