Provides strength to the body and protects mother and baby against cold.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup kokum
  • 1 spoon pure ghee
  • 1 medium onion
  • Salt to taste

 Grind to a paste

  •  1 tbsp. coconut (optional)
  • 2 tbsp. coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp. cumin seeds
  • ½ tsp. mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp. peppercorns
  • 1 tsp. ajwain
  • 1 large onion
  • 5 flakes garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder

 Method

  1. Soak the kokum in  2 cups water for half hour.
  2. Roast the ingredients from coconut to ajwain and grind with the onion and garlic to a paste.
  3. Slice the onion.
  4. Heat ghee in a vessel and fry the onion to light brown.
  5. Add ground masala paste and fry a little.
  6. Add kokum alongwith the water and salt.
  7. Add more water, if required, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer till oil surfaces.
