
Peas Pulao
Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 4 cups hot water
- 3 maggi soup cubes
- 2 large onions, sliced
- 1 cup peas, shelled
- 6 peppercorns
- 2” pc. cinnamon
- 5 cloves
- 4 cardamoms
- 2 tbsp. ghee or oil
- Salt to taste
Method
- Wash and soak rice for ½ hour.
- Heat ghee, add the whole spices and onion and fry on medium heat till light brown.
- Add the soup cubes and peas and stir till the soup cubes have dissolved. Add the rice and stir till every grain is coated with ghee.
- Add water and salt and bring to a boil, stir and transfer to very low flame and cook covered till all the water is absorbed.
- Dot with butter, if desired, and serve hot.
