Pound Cake
Contains no leavening agents and no need to heat the oven…place cake in a cold oven and then light-up…. Turned out delicious!
Ingredients
- 6 Eggs (room temperature)
- 1 cup butter (2 sticks) (room temperature)
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup whipping cream (heavy cream)
- 1 tsp. vanilla essence
- Grease and flour a bundt pan.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs, one at a time and beat well after each addition.
- Sift the flour and add it to the creamed mixture alternating with the cream until flour and cream is fully incorporated.
- Stir in the vanilla.
- Pour into prepared pan and place in a cold oven. Turn on the oven and set to 180 deg C and bake for 90 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool completely
- Remove from pan and serve with a custard sauce if desired.
