Raw Banana Bhaji
Ingredients
- 6 raw bananas
- ½ cup coconut
- 2 tbsp. tamarind juice
- Salt and jaggery to taste
Roast, each separately & powder
- 1 tbsp. coriander seeds
- 3 red chillies
- ½ tsp. cumin seeds
- ½ tsp mustard seeds
- ½ tsp. pepper corns
- ½ tsp. fenugreek (methi) seeds
Tempering
- ½ tsp. mustard seeds
- 3 flakes garlic, crushed
- Few curry leaves
- 2 sliced onions
Method
- Peel the bananas and cut into ½” cubes and soak in water till required (to prevent them turning black).
- Heat oil, add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, crushed garlic flakes, sliced onions and fry till onions are light brown.
- Add the powdered masala, fry for a few minutes
- Then add the banana pieces, salt and cook for 5 minutes.
- Add the grated coconut, jaggery, tamarind juice and simmer till done.
- Adjust seasoning
- Serve hot.
