Idli Sambar
Ingredients
- 2 Cups Rice rava (Idli Rava) (available at any Indian grocers)
- 1 Cup Urad Dal
- 2 Cups water for whole preparation i.e. grinding and to adjust consistency of batter (do not add more water).
- 2 tsp. salt or to taste
- Soak Urad dal for 4-5 hours and grind to a very smooth paste.
- Wash the idli rawa with water, drain and mix with the ground urad dal.
- Keep in a warm place to ferment for 10 to 12 hours or overnight.
- Add salt to taste and pour the batter into idle steamer mold and steam for 10 to 15 minutes.
- When done remove from steamer and leave aside to cool slightly then remove by sliding a butter knife around the edges of the mold.
