  • 250 gms. Egg or Wheat noodles
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 large carrot, sliced diagonally
  • 2 spring onions
  • 1 to 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup bean sprouts, if available


  • 1 cup chicken/vegetable broth
  • 2 tbsp. Hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. rice wine or sherry (or vinegar)
  • 1 tsp. chillie garlic sauce
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • ½ tsp. sesame oil
  • ½ tsp. white pepper
  • Salt to taste

I have used wheat noodles in this recipe.

  1. Soak noodles in hot water for five minutes.
  2. Combine marinade ingredients.
  3. Heat oil and fry garlic for 10 seconds.
  4. Add vegetables and toss to cook for five minutes.
  5. Add sauce ingredients and noodles and cook till sauce is absorbed and coats the noodles. Do not overcook.
  6. Serve hot.
